Please do not use scouring agents or scouring sponges! The inside of the bucket and the insert should also be cleaned regularly for hygienic reasons.Pondered a long time about buying this bin after looking at brabantia versions and pleased to say i made the right choice. After reading previous peoples reviews i was unsure but still decide too take the plunge.Seeing what some people had written about scraping food in the bin 2 handed was a chore i thought how lazy are people in the uk now.Seems like joe public are no longer able to adapt and overcome situations which makes us such a miserable complaining nation.Im sorry but i love the quality of this bin and its timeless look and you can tell the german quality from start to finish.Fair enough it might chip and rust in places but you have to remember its a bin which is filled with all the nasty stuff we dont want so if you filled your car day in day out with rubbish would that not rust achip and wear?I was lucky enough to pick mine up cheap from amazon and dont care if it lasts a year or 2 its a status piece.if you like cheap rubish pop down to your local argos, tesco or dunelm mill and buy a cheap nasty looking one.Best thing is now i only empty it twice a week and all you do is lift the whole thing up by the handles and it leaves the steel container on the floor. Please note youll find a large grey elastic band in the bottom of the box so dont throw it away like i nearly did its for securing bags so they dont slip down.Nice idea that works.Would i recommend the wesco pushboy for the price?i sure woulld and if you can afford it get the kickmaster which is easier to scrap rubbish into. We recommend cleaning the surface with a damp cloth using household detergent. Rubber rim at the bottom protects the floor And the most important detail: the large stainless steel insert lid with the distinctive 'PUSH' impression that gave the bin its name. The 50-litre inner insert is made of robust metal. A rubber ring at the bottom protects the floor. A guide ring on the inside ensures that the waste actually ends up in the insert and not between the insert and the body. The proportions of the body and semi-circular bonnet are perfectly matched. The design of the Pushboy is based on the idea of 'large volume - large access flap'. It stands for the successful fusion of American design and German workmanship. It has its fans in Europe, the USA or Australia as well as in South Africa or Hong Kong. Over the course of more than 30 years, the Pushboy has been sold millions of times all over the world. Since the early 1990s, it has been the flagship of the Pushboy & friends series, with which Wesco has turned the 'ugly duckling' bin into a stylish design piece for the kitchen. No waste bin is as iconic for the Wesco brand as the Pushboy. It is available exclusively in the WESCO online shop and in the four colours of the Wesco logo: The classic shiny Wesco red as well as the matt colours white, black and graphite. The Pushboy ICON is a special edition of the classic Pushboy with a wide retro base and particularly sturdy metal handles.
